Bloktherm works by reflecting heat rather than absorbing it. Unlike traditional insulation materials (like foam or mineral wool), Bloktherm forms a thin, reflective barrier – just 1–3mm thick – that improves thermal efficiency without taking up space or requiring structural changes.

Yes! Products like Bloktherm IN are suitable for both interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and facades. They’re durable, breathable and weather-resistant – ideal for UK homes and buildings.

Bloktherm coatings can be applied to a wide range of surfaces, including:

  • Plaster and concrete

  • Brick and stone

  • Wood and OSB

  • Metal and aluminium

  • Glass surfaces (with primer)

Always ensure the surface is clean, dry, and stable before application.

Yes! Because Bloktherm is ultra-thin and non-invasive, it’s ideal for use in heritage properties or spaces where traditional insulation would be impractical or prohibited.

Bloktherm coatings typically dry to the touch within 2 hours. Full curing time is around 24 hours, depending on thickness, temperature and humidity.

Absolutely. All Bloktherm products are non-toxic, odourless and solvent-free. They’re safe for use in living spaces, bedrooms, nurseries, and areas used by allergy-sensitive individuals.

Yes – especially products like BlokDRY and Window Edge can be painted over with most water-based interior paints. Just make sure the coating is fully dry before applying topcoat.
